Connect Claude Code to AgentTask

To connect Claude Code to AgentTask, install the plugin with /plugin marketplace add AgentTaskLLC/AgentTask-plugin and /plugin install agent-task@agent-task, then run /mcp and sign in; or add the MCP server directly with claude mcp add --transport http agent-task https://app.agent-task.com/v1/public/mcp.

Claude Code can read, claim, update and close AgentTask tickets over the hosted MCP endpoint. The plugin adds slash commands such as /start and /finish on top of the connection; the MCP-only route gives you the tools alone.

Plugin (browser sign-in)

  1. 1. Install the plugin

    Typed inside Claude Code. If the install summary asks, run /reload-plugins.

  2. 2. Sign in

    Run /mcp, pick agent-task, and approve the spaces it may reach when the browser opens. The plugin bundles the production endpoint; to point it elsewhere, export AGENT_TASK_MCP_URL in the shell that starts Claude Code.

MCP only (API key)

Tools only, no slash commands. Uses an organization API key.

    Add --scope user to make it available in every project.

    Run /mcp inside Claude Code, or claude mcp list; agent-task should show as connected.

The plugin installs the MCP connection plus slash commands and workflow skills, and signs in through the browser. MCP only adds just the tools and authenticates with an API key.

Use browser sign-in (OAuth) when you work as yourself: every action is attributed to your user. Use an organization API key (it starts with amk_) for shared or unattended setups; actions are attributed to the key and the user who created it. Keys are created in the app under Settings, API keys.

Run /mcp inside Claude Code, or claude mcp list in a shell. agent-task should be listed as connected.
